Perelman Family Businesses

This section contains information about the Perelman stores and family businesses in essentially Burlington, Vermont. There were three Perelman brothers in Burlington, Vermont. Isaac (“Itzak” in Yiddish) who was Wilfred (“Bill”) Cohen’s maternal grandfather and Jay Cohen’s paternal great-grandfather; Aaron (“Archik” in Yiddish) who was also Paul I. Pearl’s maternal uncle (Paul’s mother and Aaron’s wife were sisters) and started out Paul I. Pearl’s peddling career, and Jacob. Isaac had a used clothing and furniture store as well as a real estate business. Aaron had a small store. Isaac’s oldest son, Moe, got into the fuel and gasoline business as well as real estate. Isaac also had another brother, Max, who moved from Burlington to Toronto, and a sister who moved to Israel.
