Miss Inez Smith entered the empioy of N. R. Guertin and P. I. Pearl of Alburgh as head clerk on Friday. In working for Mr. J. C. Folsom, Faisom and Greene and Platte LaComb, Miss Smith has clerked ten years here in local stores. The-new firm known as "Pearl's Department Stores" bought out Plate LaComb's stock of general merchandise on May 16. Mr. Guertin will have charge of this one of their chain of five stores and will bring hia tamily here as soon as a suitable house can be located. Mr. Guertin, has been an engineer on the Rutland railroad for several years. so has many acquaintance around this locallty.Type your paragraph here

Much regret is felt in the changing of the manager, Norman Guertin, at Pearl's store at Winthrop, and everyone is looking forward to have him start a store for himself. Mr. Guertin was always congeníal, and much liked by all his customers, both at Brasher and Winthrop.

The Pearl's Department store; which has been operated here for the past lwo years is now having & closing out sale of a $20,000 stock of goods and will vacate their store before May 29th. We are all sorry to have these people leave here. They kept a first class store.

Brasher Falls Aug. 1-Mr. and Mrs. Rubie Helfand and sons, Ell and David moved last Saturday to Potadam where they will reside. Mr. and Mrs. Helfand worked in Pearl'a department store until June 1st when Platte Lacomb owner of the store, put in a stock of goods and started in business for himselt.

Winthrop, Aug. 30—Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Helfand, Eli and David who resided in Winthrop trom June 1931 to June 1932, where Mr. and Mrs. Helfand were employed in Pearl's department store, and have since been in Pearl's ștore in Potsdam, have moved to Brushton. Mr. Pearl is starting another chain store in that village and Mr. and Mrs. Helfand have been engaged to have charge of it. The store, on Main Street, will be cleaned and redecorated before goods are put into it. Mr. Helfand and family will reside in the seven room apartment over the store.
